Job-related crimes have always been the focus of crimes which is one of our government and the criminal justice agencies to combat, accepting bribes is the most harmful and the highest proportion of the crime. Accepting bribes is not only serious violations of the achievements of China’s socialist legal system but also violate the integrity of state public servants and possibly create new unfair on the community, leading to the allocation of social resources gradually controlled by the small number of people, given rise to new factors of instability. So enhance the study of accepting bribes and analyze the changes and reasons in the new social situation that we can punish the crime better than before.I use the methods of analysis of empirical research, randomly selected427cases throughout the country court judgments from1997to2010, by analyzing the amount of bribes, as well as the average sentence of accepting bribes to observe the changes of the crime of accepting bribes, finding growing amount of bribe, but the average sentence of bribery has changed little; and accepting bribes showing a trend of diversification, the way of crime more diverse and hidden, as well as crime hot spots departments linked with the current socio-economic situation more closely. These changes result mainly due to China’s rapid social and economic development, the legal system is relatively backward, inadequate power supervision and the collapse of the social value. Therefore, the focus on economic development while improving the legal system and political restructuring, improving the power system of supervision, strengthen the education for government staff, reconstruction of the socialist value system, made the economic development and social reform as well as the legal system building phase synchronous.
