Study On The Effects Of Television On Southwest Minority Villages Three Ethnic Villages

With the advancing of Cuncuntong Project (a project providing villagesinfrastructures such as motor roads, tap water, TV networks, etc.), information fromthe modern world like news, TV series and advertisements find their ways to thevillagers via means like television. Influenced by the thinking patterns and lifestyles ofthe outside world, villagers are gradually changing their minds and their hometowns. Asa prominent factor in the modernization of ethnic areas, television affects villagers’lifestyles and thoughts by providing them with information and entertainment.Specifically speaking, television increases villagers’ contacts with the outside world,changes their consumption concepts, provokes their awareness of democracy and rights,alters their daily schedules and lifestyles, and to a certain degree, depreciates thetraditional countryside lifestyle and agricultural culture.The composition of this dissertation mainly employs theories of anthropology,communication and audio and video broadcasting, chooses villagers’ attitudes andbehaviors as the subject of study, while field research and literature research are alsoconducted.
