With the advancing of Cuncuntong Project (a project providing villagesinfrastructures such as motor roads, tap water, TV networks, etc.), information fromthe modern world like news, TV series and advertisements find their ways to thevillagers via means like television. Influenced by the thinking patterns and lifestyles ofthe outside world, villagers are gradually changing their minds and their hometowns. Asa prominent factor in the modernization of ethnic areas, television affects villagers’lifestyles and thoughts by providing them with information and entertainment.Specifically speaking, television increases villagers’ contacts with the outside world,changes their consumption concepts, provokes their awareness of democracy and rights,alters their daily schedules and lifestyles, and to a certain degree, depreciates thetraditional countryside lifestyle and agricultural culture.The composition of this dissertation mainly employs theories of anthropology,communication and audio and video broadcasting, chooses villagers’ attitudes andbehaviors as the subject of study, while field research and literature research are alsoconducted. In the field research, three villages are chosen as the samples, they areLuojiatuo Miao Village in Pengshui County, Chongqing, Erdaoqiao Tibetan Village inKangding County, Sichuan and Baisang Buyi Village in Duyun City, Guizhou.Besides the introduction, the main body of the dissertation is divided into six parts.They are:Part ⅠIntroduction of the investigated areas and analysis of the status quo of TVapplication in these areasPart ⅡInfluences of TV programs on the changes of villagers’ attitudes and behaviorsPart Ⅲ Influences of TV propagation methods and strategies on the changes ofvillagers’ attitudes and behaviorsPart ⅣInfluences of population characteristics on the changes of villagers’ attitudes andbehaviorsPart ⅤInfluences of environment on the changes of villagers’ attitudes and behaviorsPart Ⅵ Influenceof television...
