As the rapid development of economy, finding the reason forthe transition of the consumption of the migrant workers means a lot to the urbanization of migrant workers in Chongqing. For that, the transition ofthe consumption of the migrant workers is the key.The main topic of this essay is the study of the migrant workers whowork in Chongqing Iron and Steel Corporation in Changshou, Chongqing.The main concern of this essay is by studying the migrant workers’consumption demand to find out that what slow down the development ofthe migrant workers’ consumption demand. And based on that, to find away to speed up the development of the migrant workers’ consumption, tolook deeply into the self-development, family expectation and socialconsumption of the migrant workers’ urban consumption. The study findthat the adjustment of residence, providing variety ways of skill training,raising education funds, reducing migrant workers’ kids’ education fees andcompleting migrant workers’ social insurance is the key to preserve thetransition of the migrant workers’ consumption. The main purpose of thisstudy is to find the factors that affect the development and transition of themigrant workers’ consumption, so that to speed up the procedure of thetransition of the migrant workers’ urban consumption, and to provide astrong support to the rapid urbanization fo the migrant workers.
