Study On The Information Demand Of The New Generation Of Migrant Workers In Xingtai

January 31, 2010, the State Council issued the 2010 Central File No. 1 "Several Opinions on urban and rural development to increase efforts to further consolidate the foundation of agriculture in rural development", in which the concept of "new generation of migrant workers" first proposed, calls for targeted measures, and takes efforts to solve the problem of generation of migrant workers, so that we can achieve new generation of farmer-workers’ acquiring citizenship.There is much debate about the clear definition of the new generation in all sectors of the community. From the perspective of time, the current is more agreeable to the majority of people, 80’s, 90’s who were born after the family planning policy. The social environment and family environment that these people grow with, compared with their elders, have undergone great changes. They are very different in education, personality traits, lifestyle, job expectations and so on than the generation before them. Along With the first generation of migrant workers’ increasing age and gradually returning rural areas, the new generation of migrant workers have moved into the city and become the subject of migrant workers by degrees. In daily life, their information literacy, information demand conditions and how they access and use the information, all of aspects have an important impact on the sustainable development, which includes their learning, work, life, obtaining employment and so on.Research on the demand condition about the new generation of migrant workers situation, has very important theory meaning and realistic meaning. On the foundation of the interview with six migrant workers work in Xingtai, combined with the questionnaire method, I refine the information required features about Xingtai new generation of migrant workers at this stage, and analysis factors. Finally I put forward some operable suggestions. From the point of theoretical, first of all, this study will help to deepen the theory of specific information for clients, and expand the range of information needs of research. Second, the survey data of this study accumulates original material about the new generation of migrant workers work in small and medium cities, and provides a reference for further in-depth study. From the point of the practical significance, only by understanding the information needs of the situation about the new generation of migrant workers in Xingtai, identifying the problems and analysising related factors, offering targeted proposals, we can improve the situation gradually and satisfy their information needs, ultimately achieve the goal of promoting harmonious development.
