A Study Of The Thought Of Harmonious Society In Mao Tse-tung’s On The Ten Major Relations

With the rapid development of socialist construction, China has entered a significantstage of development. How to deal with various contradictions well in the process ofsocailist construction has become a major issue facing us.The Sixth Plenary Session of theSixteenth Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee deliberated and adoptedThe Decisions on the Construction of Socialist Harmonious Society of the CentralCommittee of the CPC in October2006;17th CPC National Congress reemphasized thesignificance of constructing socialist harmonious society in October,2007. Therefore,researches on the ideas of socialist harmonious society have become a vital subject of thetheoretical study of contemporary socialism with Chinese characteristics.In addition, MaoZedong has already realized the significance of constructing socialist harmonious societyin his book On The Ten Major Relations published on the April25th,1956.This paper adopts such methods as literature search, logical induction and unificationof history to penetratingly analyze On The Ten Major Relations from the perspective ofhistory and reality and further analyzes the ideas of harmonious society in On The TenMajor Relations from a multi-angel and multi-level aspect.To begin with, the paper tidiesup the formation process of On The Ten Major Relations and concludes the basic spiristand principles of On The Ten Major Relations.And then this paper analyzes in great detailthe harmonious concepts reflected in the various sectors of the economy, differenteconomic areas, economic development, national defense constrction, the main body ofthe distribution of benefits and the ethnic groups, parties and diplomatic relations in OnThe Ten Major Relation.At last, this paper sorts out the evolutionary process of theharmonious society ideas in On The Ten Major Relation based on the analysis of inheritedrelations among On The Ten Major Relation, Eight Political Report, and Deng XiaopingTheory. And this further summarizes the enlightenment and practical significance of theideas of a harmonious society in On The Ten Major Relation to the contemparary society.On the basis of reviewing and sorting On The Ten Major Relation,this paper aims tosummarize the ideas of a harmonious society of Mao Zedong and explores the historical method combined with the real social problems to analyze the important enlightenment ofthe ideas of a harmonious society of Mao Zedong to the contemparary society, which canfurther make some theoretical contribution to the practical activities of constructing asocialist harmonious society.
