The Function Of Charitable Organization Credibility In China

In recent years, Charity organizations have been developing rapidly in China,which plays a very important role in making up for the deficiency of the governmentand market, further reducing social contradictions between the rich and the poor,perfecting our social security system, promoting the construction of civil society andthe formation of good governance, and building the harmonious socialist society. Butcharity organizations are exposing more and more problems in practice, such as lowoperation efficiency of charity projects, internal management confusion, clusteringcorruption, etc. These problems are the performance of lacking of credibility, on theother hand, they affect the promotion of the credibility of charity organizations andbecome a great impediment to charity organization’s survival and development.Therefore, the shortage of credibility of charity organizations has been increasingly amajor social concern.The instrument in this paper involves document analysis, comparative study,information research and causal analysis. After elaborating related theories of charityorganizations, this paper illustrates the performance of lacking of credibility of charityorganizations and analyses their reasons which include four aspects: immaturedevelopment environment----the social and economic development level is not high,the charity atmosphere is not strong; the dislocation of government function----theoffside functions of the government make charity organizations lack of independentoperation space, the government lack of related charity legislation and correspondingpolicies; the charity organizations’ own problems----their financial managementsystems are non-standard and lacking of service awareness, sense of mission andprofessional talents; the imperfect external supervision system----imperfection ofgovernment regulation, weak social supervision strength and imperfect externalevaluation mechanism. The first reason makes the construction of charityorganizations’ credibility lack of development and social base. The second and the fourth reasons make charitable organization credibility lack of institutional constraintwhile the charity organizations’ own problems are the fundamental reason of lackingof credibility. Finally, the paper comes up with four countermeasures corresponding tothe four problems in order to improve the credibility of charity organizations.
