"Smart Power" And Diplomatic Strategy Of Peaceful Development Of China

The United States is the world’s largest developed country, China is the biggestdeveloping country in the world, therefore, they are both the most influential country inthe international political stage, the competition is not only a "hard power" competition, or"soft power" competition now."Smart power" strategy is the guiding foreign policy theorythat according to the reality of the situation changes, and is the effective combination ofthe "hard power" and "soft power". At present, China’s comprehensive national strengthenhanced obviously, it made the other countries of the unrest, and lead to other countriesunite curb China’s peaceful development. But if China can draw lessons from America’s“Smart power" diplomatic, enhance the "hard power" and "soft power" and use it skillfully,then can effectively face curb China’s peaceful development from other countries.In this paper, at first the "Smart power","hard power" and "soft power" concept andits mutual relations were analyzed, and the "Smart power" theory origin were described indetail; Then focuses on analyzing background, content, measures and evaluation ofObama government " Smart power" diplomatic strategy; Finally proposes that Chinachooses the path of peaceful development can learn from “Smart Power” strategy ofUnited States: growing "hard power", improving "soft power", at the same time, flexibleusing " Smart power".
