UniversityStudents’ Motives For Joining The Communist Party Of China

In recent years, university students show increasing passion to join the Communist Party of China; meanwhile, the number of university students party members is becoming larger and larger with more and more students becoming members of the Party. With the increasing degree of economic globalization and information network and the deepening of China’s reform and opening up and socialist construction process, the social situation and economic environment both at home and abroad are constantly changing, the diversification of culture and ideas as well as values has a profound impact on contemporary university students’motives to join the Party. Consequently, there are some worrying conditions about their motives to join the Party:the motives of some students party members and party activists to join the Party are not pure; some students join the Party for job hunting, following the trend, or simply following their parents’order. In the meantime, the Party organization construction of university students is weak. The education on university students’motives to join the Party is facing a severe test and challenge.(In recent years, university students show increasing interest in the Communist Party of China. As a result, the number of university students party member is larger and larger. With economic globalization and information network, China is deepening reform and becomes more and more opening up. Moreover, the social and economic environment both at home and abroad are constantly changing. Against such background, the motives of the contemporary university students are diversified)To better understand and master the present situation of contemporary university students’motives to join the party, the questionnaire is employed as a main research tool and technique during this research. The undergraduates in Shandong University are the subject of research on education of university students’motives to join the Party in social psychological context. This research aims at fully understanding the current situation of university students’motives to join the party, and, therefore, providing enough evidence for analyzing and solving this problem. After in-depth understanding of the situation and the problem, the author carries out the social psychological analysis and construction and tries to find out the strategy and specific practice on education of university students’motives to join the Party.Aiming at finding the internal driving force of the formation and development of University students’motives to join the party, the theoretical analysis is carried out from the perspectives of the hierarchy of needs theory, theory of achievement motivation, herding theory and so on. This research analyzes the causes of the formation of various motives to join the party and provides evidence for theoretical research on Party joining motives education and education practice. The education on university students’motives to join the party in the new era should be based on a comprehensive grasp of the types of motives of university students to join the party. It should look into the formation mechanism and psychological patterns of such motives, grasp the nature of problem, develop the education strategy on motives to join the Party in accordance, and guide the contemporary university students’political orientation. Only by this way can the effect of education on motives to join the party be guaranteed, and the qualified builders and successors of the Party cause will be produced.
