The aging of population is deepened ceaselessly in the world, the aging populationreceives more and more people’s attention, China is a country with a large population, and it isalso the most populous country in the elderly. The aging of population will bring many socialproblems, such as nursing, medical and so on, how to protect the elderly all kinds of rightsand interests of government and academic institutions is one of the main research subjects. In1996China promulgated the “Senior citizens’ relative rights and interests protection ", and inthe subsequent have added the related law, regulations to further protect older people’s rightsand interests. With the aging of the population and the increasing extent, aging brings socialproblems at the same time it also brings a broad consumer market, while the older consumerrights violations restrict the consumer market development and growth. Security andmaintenance of older consumer rights become China’s administrative departments andacademic circles the important topic. In October31,1993China promulgated, in January1,1994since the implementation of the “PRC consumer protection law is China’s consumerprotection fundamental law guarantee. In accordance with the law, the promulgation andimplementation of our country not only to safeguard the interests of consumers is veryimportant, also to maintain social and economic order and promote the healthy developmentof socialist market economy also plays an important role. China’s elderly population continuesto increase, the aging consumer market is increasing year by year, to protect the elderlyconsumer rights is not only the consumer personal things, and economic development andsocial stability are closely related. When the older consumers rights and interests have beeninfringed upon, will naturally cause the consumer market crunch, not consumption, also donot have the market. In order to ensure that older people’s legitimate rights and interests,safeguard the older consumer market stable development, China needs to older people in theconsumption process encountered in the infringement on the rights of the serious study of thesubject, in order to seek a better solution.This article through system analysis, comparative analysis, linking theory with practiceresearch methods, on China’s consuming market of the old and the development of China’selderly people in the process of consumption tort phenomenon, the causes and the olderconsumer rights awareness and current conducted in-depth research, which is divided intofour sections as follows:The first part elaborated our country old consumer rights and interests protectionresearch background, research purpose and research emphasis and difficulty analysis of agedin China, protection of consumer rights and interests in China’s economic and socialdevelopment importance.The second part elaborated on China’s elderly population status, development trend andour country consumer rights and interests protection method content. The third part first elaborated our country old people consumption demand andconsumption characteristics, then analysis the summarized our country old people in theprocess of consumption rights and interests have been infringed upon reason and fields, thelast of China’s elderly consumer rights present situation investigation and study, trying to findthe against elderly consumer rights fundamental reason.The fourth part from the six aspects of the elderly in China consumer rights protectionand put forward countermeasure and suggestion. To solve the social contradiction, to improveChina’s social security system, building a socialist harmonious society, is of greatsignificance.
