The U.S. factor in the Middle East unrest is an unavoidable problem in the study of theMiddle East. As an important and difficult subject, the Middle East issue has aroused theattention of the concerned scholars, which has been studied more than half a century, but ithas not been resolved, and with the current revolution of Middle East, the issue has becomemore complex and serious. The U.S. factor plays an important role in the current turmoil. Thereason is that the Middle East is an important strategic region of the United States in the world,and is also an important energy base of the United States and other Western countries. Fromthis perspective, the United States to intervening in the Middle East affairs is an importantmethod of solving its interesting problem. This paper will be divided into three parts:Chapter1: The author describes the U.S. factor in the middle east in three perspectives,namely,the middle East is the energy base of the U.S. and other western countries,safeguards, Israel’s security and maintaining the balance of political forces. The middle east isthe focus, for it is fundamental to guarantee the security of western countries’ energy basesand Israel’ security. But the premise of achieving these goals is to prevent Iran from becomingdanger and stronger in the Middle East, and developing the possession of nuclear weapons.Chapter2: The author make a specific analysis of different policies.The countriesimplement policies in the Middle East and find out the similarities and differences ofAmerican policies. Then author come to the conclusion that American dual policy is the keyand decisive factor in the previous and current turmoil of the Middle East.Chapter3: The authors analyze the influences of the Middle East turmoil on the US futurepolicies on the Middle East by formulating the Middle East.We can see that the strategies implemented by the United States on the Middle East arecomposed of safeguarding the energy security of western country, ensuring Israel’s securityand maintaining the balance of the political forces of Middle East which refers to not allowingany county to dominate the energy security of Western countries and Israel’s national security.It is one of the basic principles that the US implement double standards which characterizedby suppression and supporting on the Middle East considering current interests. This is alsoan important reason of the continuous unrest in the Middle East.The meanings of the Middle East turmoil will be profound and lasting. First of all, thecontinuous turmoil of the Middle East and the uncertain political future of Egypt, Libya, Syriawill make Israel face a greater threat, which will force America to increase military andeconomic support and assistance, thus affecting the future relations of the US with Arabiancountries. Secondly, the continuous unrest of the Middle East will force Iran to develop nuclear weapons more firmly, and thus make the future relations of the US with Iran moreserious. And weakening Iran’s influences on the Middle East will become extremely difficult.Thirdly, the continuous unrest of the Middle East has exacerbated the tension of the worldenergy markets. High oil prices will threaten the US, Western Europe and the world economicrecovery.Strengthening the study of the Middle East turmoil is of great importance to ensureChina’s energy imports from the Middle East and to maintain China’s western frontierprovinces’ national security, territorial integrity and social stability.
