The important strategic position, abundant petroleum resources and far-reaching religion influence, all these make the Middle East still the focus continuously all over the world in the 21st century. The Middle East takes up the important position in the global strategy of U.S. How is the effect of the Middle East policy of U.S.? It involves directly whether the global strategy of U.S. could be realized smoothly. Before World War II, there is no comparatively systematic Middle East policy in U.S. The outburst of World War II impelled U.S. to get involved in the Middle East area, the Middle East policy of U.S. went through three subject stages :cold war period , during the decade from cold war finished to"9·11"incident , after"9·11"incident. This text regards Bush administration's Middle East policy as the core studied, and regards the U.S. Middle East policy After World War II as the breakthrough point studied, puts the realization of national democratization of the Middle East area into wider human history process.Researching the U.S. Middle East policy, especially the U.S. Middle East policy after"9·11"incident. It is contribute to us pay close attention to the strategy and take the relevant measure. Meanwhile, the author hope that the thesis can make the theory combine the current events progress in time, objective and analysis problem deeply. So make the article have practice meanings even more.Chapter One, researches the current situation on U.S. Middle East policy both at home and abroad. Summarized domestic and overseas research productions. Analyzed the problems in the U.S. Middle East policy researches at the same time.Chapter Two, The summary of the Middle East from three aspects which in order to illustrate the Middle East takes up the important position in the global strategy of US. That is, the important strategic position, abundant petroleum resources and far-reaching religion influence.Chapter Three, analyses the development of U.S. Middle East policy in the cold war period and after the cold war to"9·11"incident .In this part, the article Points out America and Soviet Union face-off is the outstanding characteristic in the cold war period, the degree of U.S. participation in the Middle East all around the strategic interests and develops constantly. After the cold war to"9·11"incident period, U.S. Experiences Clinton government, Bush government and before"9·11"incident government. In a word, a long-term idea of the U.S. government is that the stability in the Middle East is primary benefit of U.S.. So, U.S. Middle East policy has not changed in essence in this decade."stability and peace"under U.S.'s leading is the main situation characteristic in the Middle East .Chapter Four, discusses"democratization transformation in Greater Middle East".This part researches that the implementation background , the concrete content and the prospect carry on deep research and discussion. The article Point out"9·11"incident have a direct impact on security view and the Middle East policy of U.S. After strategical reajustment, Bush government propose"democratization transformation in Greater Middle East". it marks the great transition of the U.S. Middle East policy: It is inheriting peace talks, attacks questions on Object to U.S. , all this are previous U.S. government in the Middle East. But"democratization transformation in Greater Middle East"surmount U.S. frame of geopolitics in the past of the U.S. Middle East policy, it realized democratization of the Middle East, popularize the American value system and life style as the U.S. Middle East policy's basic goal. But numerous difficulties of the Iraqi post-war reconstruction, Middle East countries'reform, progress of the Islamic extremism force, against U.S. activity constantly, Israel and Palestine peaceful problem , all the realistic problems make the"democratization transformation in Greater Middle East"Whether could go on succeeded or not is still await .Chapter Five, Firstly, predicted the development trend of the U.S. Middle East policy in the future. This part start from the international relations theory on the realism and idealism, point that Among the international relation theories, realism and idealism are two sharply contrasting ones. They have effected on U.S. Middle East Policy deeply. However, whether idealism or realism, the basic point is the American's interest. Secondly, the article pointed out the democracy transformation Middle East is the Bush Administration Middle East policy important way. Finally, analyzed challenge from four aspects which the Bush Administration Middle East policy faces. That is terrorist organization's attack, Iraqi unstable dissemination, American and Iran's resistance and Middle East political power transformation.
