A Research On Gender Equality At The Primary Stage Of Socialism

The realization degree of gender equality has become animportant measure of the progress of a civilization. Nowadays,many countries take the promotion of gender equality as animportant strategic component of the nation’s development. Inour country, the Party and government have always attachedgreat importance to promote gender equality. In recent years,Chinese Government take gender equality as an important contentof building a harmonious socialist society, take effectivemeasures and make great efforts to guarantee women enjoy equalrights and opportunities with men in all aspects of political,economic, cultural, social and family life. Women’s survivaland development environment&socioeconomic Status have beenimproved distinctively. However, gender discrimination and thegap between men and women in social status still exist, manyexisting problems resulted from various factors can not beignored. Men and women are the central subjects of socialdevelopment; both of them are creators of social materialcivilization and spiritual civilization. Promote genderequality, which enable both men and women to share economicresources equally and work closely, will promote the progressof both sexes and the society and contributes to theconstruction of a harmonious socialist society.This thesis, after a brief introduction of basic theoriesof social gender, will take an in-depth analysis of both thecurrent situation and its causes of gender equality in theprimary stage of socialism. And then, will interpret theimportance of gender equality in the construction of aharmonious socialist society.This thesis is divided into3chapters. Chapter1introduces fundamental theories. First, it expounds the theoryof the primary stage of socialism from three aspects: twomeanings of the theory of the primary stage of socialism, eightcharacteristics at the new stage and the importance of have akeen appreciation of this theory. Then, it explains the theoryof social gender from two aspects: social gender theory and its development in China, the definition of social gender and thesignificance of this theory. At last, it gives definitions toequality between the sexes&gender equality and expounds theirrelationship. Chapter2first discusses the current situationof gender inequality in the field of employment, politic,education, mass culture and social&family field, and thenlooks into the causes of these social problems. Chapter3putsforward corresponding suggestions and countermeasures forpromote gender equality, and discusses the significance ofgender equality for social progress.
