Comparative Analysis Of The United Front Of National Salvation And The Anti-Japanese United Front

The anti Japanese nation united front based on the cooperation of CPC and KMT madegreat contribution to the completely victory of Chinese people. For a hundred years, it is thefirst time that Chinese people successfully fight against the foreign aggression. During itsformation, CPC had played a leading role, the KMT also have a good performance which hadwon a faire evaluation from the academia. But the middle parties especially such asChiu-Kuo-hui, which also played a important role in the formation of Anti-JapaneseNational United front, is not giving enough attention to. Therefore, this paper tries to studythe effects of National salvation Association in forming the Anti-Japanese National UnitedFront, and try to make the corresponding generalization for its historical limitations.Chui-kuo-hui known as the National Salvation Association, referred to a federation of allwalks or quan-jiu-hui，was formed after“the918”incident, when the rising anti-Japanesenational salvation movement was rising, as well as under the influence of the first establishedshanghai Salvation federation of all walks. It was a nationwide mass anti-Japanese salvationgroup. Chui-kuo-hui was founded in June1,1936, dissolved in1949after the foundation ofnew China, In spite that it exists only a brief period of fourteen years, but the role its played inthe victory of the war, especially in the formation of the anti-Japanese national united front,has a very positive sense. After “The September18th”Incident, Ethnic conflicts betweenChina and Japan rose to the Chinese society’s principal contradiction.and the victory ofAnti-Japanese War is not a faction of the party can do alone. Chiu-Kuo-hui called on thenational political parties, political groups and all strata to form a united front of anti-Japanesenational salvation; urge KMT to change its internal and external policies, and actively help theCPC to improve its anti-Japanese national united front policy, promoting the formation of theKMT-CPC cooperation, as well as anti-Japanese national united front.The first part of this overview is to outline the social background when the federation ofnational salvation was founded, to analyze the reason for the anti-Japanese national salvationmovement gradually rising at that time, and to generalize the establishing process of chiu-kuo-hui as well as its main ideas of “united front”.In the second part I will lay emphasis on the analysis of differences between “the unitedfront” which was bring up by chiu-kuo-hui and “the Anti-Japanese national united front”which came from the CPC.I will discuss them at three aspects: the principal advocate, thepolitical opinion and their organizational forms.The third part mainly evaluates the role of chiu-kuo-hui in the formation of“Anti-Japanese national united front”, and try to make corresponding summary of itshistorical limitations.Though the national salvation association is only a mass political group without a formalpolitical program, it had played an important role in history. It was established under thebackground that Japan imperialism intensified aggression against China, and the civil warbegan. At this critical moment chiu-kuo-hui called for the mass to fight against the aggressionof Japan and put forward with the issue of building " the United Front", all that brined thenational salvation movement to a climax, and greatly promoted the cooperation of CPC andKMT, thus Chiu-kuo-hui not only played an important historical role in the formation ofAnti-Japanese National United Front, but also made immortal contribution for the victory ofAnti-Japanese War.
