In self-investigation cases, the suspects are functionaries of state organs or state personnel. Therefore, during the interrogation, their behavior and psychological characteristics would be different from others. Most of these suspects would dodge talking about their crimes, and they even would refuse to, lie about and retreat their confessions. As a result, the interrogation may be complicated, changeable and descend into stalemate. At present, in the practice of self-investigation, technical investigating methods are barely used; instead interrogation is usually used to make a breakthrough in the oral confession of the suspects. Therefore, it is essential to research about the interrogating methods and the psychological states of the suspects during the interrogation. What’s more, the exact application of interrogating strategies also relies on this research. The criminals will be interrogated as suspects after the judicial authority open the investigation on file and make it enter the judicial process. At this moment, their psychological barriers would be the fear of the punishments, psychological superiority, fluke mind, psychological precautions and psychological confrontation. Influenced by the psychological states mentioned above, the suspects would stick in a contradiction where they are unwilling to confess and dare not to confront the interrogation. With the interrogation going further, the suspects would choose a favorable situation according to their crimes and criminal behavior. They would either resist the interrogation directly or pin blame on others. In practice, the psychology and reactions of every suspect are different during the interrogation. This is the consequence of interaction between the internal factors and the external factors. The internal factors include both physiological and psychological factors; the external factors contain social environment, natural environment and surroundings.Psychological restriction means the object of thinking receives mandatory restriction and the thinking loses its randomicity. Psychological restriction is a kind of internal restriction differentiating from traditional external restriction-physical force. Restriction on the mental of suspects is the foundation of the motivation of confession. The interrogation is the key point of the success of the self-investigation case. During the interrogation using the psychological restriction, in order to improve the efficiency of the interrogation, the interrogators need equipped with health mental states, appropriate behavior, and proper layout of the interrogation room. They also should avoid using torture to coerce a confession. This paper applies the principles in the science of Criminal Law, Criminology and Criminal Psychology, as well as the analysis of the psychology and behavior of suspects during the interrogation.
