The Marxism theory education conducted by CPC in Yan’an period is demonstrative.This paper performs a review of the background, contents, forms and features, in order toachieve valuable experiences for the ongoing ideological construction, and enlightenments forthe Party construction in new contexts.The Marxism theory education conducted by CPC in Yan’an period is closely related tothe development of the Party and political situation, for it is considered as a necessary basisfor Chinese revolutionary practices, organizational construction, and proper handling of theCommintern. The relatively external stability acts as an external condition. The graduallystrengthened central leadership of CPC headed by Mao Zedong since Zunyi conference servesas a political support. An increasing number of intellectuals gathering in Yan’an periodprovide with the teachers. In effect, the Marxist theoretical education by CPC then helpsgreatly with the spread of the Marxism in China.The Marxism theory education conducted by CPC in Yan’an period undergoes athree-staged development. October1935to May1941is the first stage, during which CPCbegins to recollect its history, readjust its integrative strategies, implement an ideologicaleducation campaign with Marxism as basic principle, and clean up the subjectivism, inparticular, dogmatism. May1941to April1945marks a multidimensional rectificationcampaign. April1945to March1948is the stage when a large-scale learning of Mao Zedongthought is in progress.The Marxism theory education conducted by CPC in Yan’an period features in thecombination of both theory of Marxism, Chinese revolutionary practices and experiences ofCPC construction. In addition, diversified means of dissemination is performed throughopening different types of schools, and newspapers, broadcasts and mass media, enhancingthe learning and self-learning. What is more, the education strengthens theory and practice,truth, leadership training, and efficiency.The Marxism theory education conducted by CPC in Yan’an period sets an example for the ideological education, and enriches the Party construction in the future. In conclusion, thisstudy is intended, through a retrospect, to enhance the particularized ideological education,Party construction, further mass education of Marxism, and promote the political educationwith theory and practice combined.
