Yan’ An Period Study On Localization Of Marxism In China

The over90years’ history of the Communist Party of China has been a history of thecombination of Marxism and the concrete realities of China, and meanwhile a developmenthistory of Marxism’s localization in China during Chinese revolution, construction andreform practice. To select the Yan’an period as a perspective towards the research ofMarxism’s localization in China has great practical and theoretical significance. In a sense,without the Yan’an period, there would not have been any development and growth of theCommunist Party of China, or the maturity of Mao Zedong Thought, or the victory ofChinese revolution, not to mention the New China.In order to study Marxism’s localization during the Yan’an period, the developmentstages and basic connotation of the localization must be determined. In my opinion, inaccordance with the time line, the development of Marxism’s localization during the Yan’anperiod can be roughly divided into three stages: the brewing and preparation stage, thepresentation and improvement stage, and the enrichment and development stage.Connotation of Marxism’s localization in China during the Yan’an period includes fouraspects, namely, it is the localization of basic principles of Marxism, is a combination ofMarxism with Chinese practices, is the Marxization of practical experience of the Chineserevolution, and is the " Chinese style " Marxism. Marxism, being a theory rooted in theadvanced culture of the West, needs certain paths and means to play a role in China and toachieve localization. During the Yan’an period, study movements were vigorously carriedout, investigation and research was advocated, the combination of theory with practice andthe sublimation of revolutionary experience was promoted and carried out, thus laying asolid methodological basis of Marxism’s localization in China.During the Yan’an period, the results of Marxism’s localization in China is mainlyreflected in clearly putting forward its historical tasks, scientifically revealing its basicconnotation, timely exploring its path of realization, and forming its great theoreticalachievements-Mao Zedong Thought. During this period, the Communist Party of China was growing stronger and maturing daily, and has achieved fruitful results in thetheoretical innovation of Marxism. As in the new times when we continue to deepenreform and opening up, to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and topromote the innovation of the Marxist theory, the Yan’an period bears great significance ofinspiration and guidance.
