The view of nature as an integral part of the world outlook is the base on which human get to know the whole world and also the methodology in which people understand and reform the nature. As one of the most important and detailed theories of Marxist philosophy, Marx’s view of the nature abandons the previous views of nature and establishes a humanized view of nature based on practice, whose ultimate value is to realize the unity between man and nature. At present, the global ecological environment issues are getting increasingly bad, which urges people to re-examine the relationship between man and nature, and to reflect our views of nature and development. Therefore, the research on Marx’s view of nature becomes the hot topic in the current philosophical studies, drawing much attention from scholars. The very important step for us to study, insist and develop Marx’s philosophy is to view and solve new problems by applying to Marxism basic viewpoints, methods, and ways of thinking. This is the fundamental requirement and also the reason why Marx’s philosophical theory can maintain such strong vitality. Based on plenty of Marxism works, this paper studies the Marxism view of nature systematically, explaining and discussing the main content of Marx’s view of nature from four unities, namely unity between people as organism and nature as the in-organism, unity between human activity and natural passivity, unity between the history of human and the nature and unity between the liberation of human beings and the nature. These contents form the rationale of the paper. Also, this paper analyzes the theoretical characteristics of Marx’s view of the nature. The main purpose of the paper is to provide constructive rationale for building socialist ecological civilization and directions for solving global ecological issues under the guide of Marx’s view of the nature through observations on the theoretical characteristics of Marx view of the nature.
