Study On The Value Orientation Of China’s Social Security System Reform

The study of social justice has a long history, and scholars from various countrieshave done some specialized studies on it. Since China established socialist marketeconomic system, to solve social problems and build a harmonious society, study onsocial justice has become the attention of many disciplines such as sociology,philosophy, political science, law, economics, and ethics. There is a great gap inChina’s social security system between the rural areas and urban areas, amongdifferent areas and different groups. This kind of difference is an illustration of socialinjustice, not only leading to unfair sharing of the development results but alsoleading to social conflicts. Therefore, the main task of the China’s social securitysyetem reform is to consolidate the principle of inclusion and to promote itsimpartiality. Justice of China’s social security system would ensure all Chinese canshare the fruits of national development.First，the paper summarizes the theory of justice and the history of valueorientation of China’s social security system. Second, the paper analyzes the presentsituation and reason of the injustice of China’s social security system. Third, the valueorientation of China’s social security system, that is, social justice is put forward, andwe should take five measures to achieve social justice, for example, endow Chinesethe right of social security, handle the relationship between equity and efficiency,focus on human dignity, adhere to the principle of universality, selectivity and rigidityin the construction of the system.The paper, based on analyzing the role of China’s social security system inpromoting social justice, concludes that：only by sticking to the value orientation ofsocial justice can China’s social security system play a positive function.
