Marxist Concept Of Equality And The Construction Of A Harmonious Socialist Society

Equality is the first truth in human social life. Both man and man,man and social relations which are specified, is mainly refers to thespiritual level, specific to each individual, it embodies the equality.From the entire history of the human society’s development, nomatter what kind of social form, it will lead to social disintegrationwithout "equality", this basic principle. In real life, the so-calledequality is not to say that people should enjoy definite equality in allaspects, but in personality, dignity and opportunity. In our country,with the establishing of our socialist system and the development ofreform and opening up, we have made outstanding achievement,however, at the same time, various social problems andcontradictions triggered by social inequality also increase gradually.So,"more harmonious society” has been put forward in the party’sSixteenth Congress as one of the goals of construction of well-offsociety, then The fourth Plenary Session of the Sixteenth Congressput forward that " to improve the ability of constructing thesocialism harmonious society" should be regarded as the party’simportant governing capacity."Equality" and "harmony" arecomplementary to each other, only when social equalitybeenrealized, can social harmony be reached; socialharmony will promote the advancing of social equality. For thepurpose of realizing the important goal of constructing the socialistharmonious society, our country should start from establishingequal and harmonious social environment and social members’consciousness of equality, trying to encourage every social memberto play their positive influence. In addition, party’s EighteenthCongress held in November,2012clearly presented that "sexualequality” should be considered legalized. It also shows that the newnational leaders place great importance on realization of all-roundsocial equality. This paper attempts to start from the equality viewof Marxism and explore the basic path leading to the realization ofthe important goal that constructing the socialist harmonioussociety. It will be enrichment and development of Marxist view ofequality and also necessary to solve the current social problems inchina.
