Based on the institutional change, the political transformation of Kazakhstan isevolving from the Unitarianism to the modern western democracy. The republic ofKazakhstan has been independent for22years. Great changes have been taking placein political society. Meanwhile, the political situation in Kazakhstan generally keepsstable through the effective governance by the authority.Overall, the process of Kazakhstan’s political transformation has experiencedthree main stages: the initial stage of political transformation, the exploratory stage ofpolitical transformation and stable development stage of political transformation. Inthe whole process, the economy, ethnic, religious and big powers are main factors thatimpacts significantly on the political transformation of Kazakhstan. In contrast, theproblems among democratic governance, electoral process, Media and Justice havebeen showing up. As a big country in Central Asia, Kazakhstan’s politicaltransformation has significantly influenced on the situation of both the domestic andneighboring countries. Accordingly, the prospects of Kazakhstan’s politicaltransformation are relatively eye-catching.This dissertation regards the background ofKazakhstan’s political transformationas the entry point. Initially, it analyzes the process of the Kazakhstan’s politicaltransformation, attempts to grasp the outline and discovers the particularities of it.Meanwhile, it takes the whole process under consideration on the macro-level in orderto dredge the main factors that significantly affect Kazakhstan’s politicaltransformation and the prominent problems showing up during the process. Ultimately,it makes a general prediction on the prospects of the political transformation ofKazakhstan.
