After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991,Kazakhstan embarked on a path of transformation and development.Over the past three decades,Kazakhstan’s comprehensive national strength and international influence have been continuously enhanced, which is attributable to the smooth implementation of Kazakhstan’s political transformation. In the past year,Kazakhstan’s new round of political transformation has attracted wide attention both at home and abroad. In addition,Kazakhstan is an important neighbor of China and an important country along the Belt and Road Initiative. Therefore,it is of great significance to research the current situation and future trend of Kazakhstan’s political transformation.Based on this practical concern and the political transformation theory as the theoretical basis, this paper systematically explores the main factors affecting the political transformation of Kazakhstan, the domestic influence of the political transformation of Kazakhstan, the future trend of the political transformation of Kazakhstan and other key issues by using the text analysis and historical analysis method.Throughout the process of Kazakhstan’s political transformation, structural factors such as economic development, steppes’ democratic culture, international structure and behavioral subject factors such as leaders, political elites and major powers have exerted their influence together, making the political transformation of Kazakhstan move forward steadily from top to bottom, and forging a path of transformation with Kazakh characteristics. It has effectively maintained national stability and promoted the steady improvement of the country’s comprehensive national strength and international influence. However, the imbalance of power structure in the process of transformation leads to corruption and oligarchization. In reality, the political transformation of Kazakhstan is still in progress and still has strong uncertainties.Economic and livelihood issues will continue to affect the political transformation, and the adjustment of power structure will remain an important part of the transformation.Problems such as the lack of political literacy and social autonomy of citizens still need continuous attention.
