Recently the amount of international migrants has flourished. International migration not only has promoted economic, political and cultural exchanges, but also has an increasingly impact on its recipient countries, especially on some developed countries where severe population aging and labor shortage have taken place. However, since International Migrants Day has been established on18December2000, attention to the international migrants has been increasing, and growing attention has been given to the protection of rights and benefits of international migrants.Compared with the decisive role played by international migrants, the protection of their rights and benefits is far from satisfactory. Among basic human rights of international migrants, the right to health is no doubt in the line of protection. It was few decades ago that health was defined as one right and in1946that the right to health was confirmed for the first time and declared as a basic right by the World Health Organization. Some international legal documents of human rights, such as Universal Declaration of Human Rights and The International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights which have vital influence on the health protection, point out the significance of protecting the health of international migrants. Without any doubt, the protection of the right to health of international migrants not only has its legitimacy, but also has its necessity. The focus of this thesis is on the protection of the right to health of international migrants in the EU. The preface mainly introduces the background and significance of the research topic. The body consists of four parts. The last part concerns challenges from the protection of right to health of international migrant in the EU, which analyzes the existing problems, explores reasons behind them, and gains enlightenment. In conclusion, this thesis is of some reference value to improve the protection of right to health of international migrants to China and the whole world.
