| Marx regards the artistic activities as a kind of human production practice, and puts forward the concept of art production". He discusses the problems of the artistic activities in the macro historical context, forming a unique art production theory system. This paper studies Marx’s theory of art production from three aspects, in the foundation of reading Marx’s original works thoroughly.The first part of the paper traces the theoretical origin of the Marx’s art production theory. Marx’s theory of art production mainly draws materials from the ancient Greek culture, the German classical aesthetics, the British political economics and utopian socialism. In addition, it is also influenced by the Christian culture and the18th century enlightenment thoughts to a certain extent.The second part of the paper combs the main content of Marx’s theory of art production systematically, including the formation process and connotation of the concept, the origin of art production, the art production elements and the development of art production.The third part of the paper summarizes the contemporary contributions and enlightenments of art production theory. Contributions are mainly in three points:creatively discloses the art activities; reveals the law of artistic activities in the commodity system; pointes out the important way to human’s free and overall development. The art production theory of Marx to our contemporary enlightenments are:we must adhere to the viewpoint of historical materialism and dialectical materialism in the literary evaluation; we should actively explore the new law of cultural development under the condition of the socialist market economy; we should take advantage of the revolutionary role of art in the building and development of socialist culture. |
