In2009, to make up the lack of the national government-sponsored Chineseteachers and Chinese teachers volunteers, Hanban had set “Foreign Chinese TeacherScholarship”, in order to encourage young outstanding men who are interested inChinese teaching to come to China to study MTCSOL, which increasing newchannel to train foreign Chinese teachers. By now, there have at least two termsforeign MTCSOL to learn this professional degree, while about this degree’s trainingis still under exploration, so at present, it is necessary for us to look back through thisdegree’s training and sum the experience, find problems and propose accordingsuggestions, which is good for promoting the training quality.This article with the title “Study on current training situation of foreign studentmajoring in MTCSOL–Take Xinjiang Normal University as example”, using theresearch method of literature, questionnaires and interview, tried to learn about thecurrent situation of foreign MTCSOL in this university and sum up the experiencethere have been.On the other hand, this thesis analyzed the problems of this professionaldegree’s training, and explores it causes. These factors, such as foreign students’Chinese is not good as needed, they also don’t have an overall understanding aboutthis professional degree, and after graduated, they are not affirmed to be a Chineseteacher, influenced the training goal of MTCSOL at some degree. Against theexisting problems, this paper proposed some suggestions to strengthen thisprofessional degree’s training quality, including strictly control the students’ Chinesebefore enrollment, and widely broaden the entrance channel; According to theoverseas students learning characteristics, set up in line with the objective needs ofthe courses; Fully aware of overseas students knowledge background and motivation,appropriate extension length of training; In deep investigation and study, accordingto different demand, carry out multi-level teachers training; Building up theinstructors ranks, construct high-quality contingent of teachers.This paper is mainly divided into five chapters. The first chapter is theintroduction; the second chapter is the study design. Chapter three is the presentinvestigation and analysis of MTCSOL situation in Xinjiang, in order to analyze theexperience, and find problems; Chapter four is further improving and providing someproposals to the MTCSOL’s training; chapter five is the conclusion and reflective,aimed at providing some reference to improve the training quality of foreign studentsmajoring in MTCSOL in Xinjiang university.
