| The concept of physical violence is defined as the aggressive behavior of use yourown body or other instruments to harm another individual and cause more seriousconsequences, the parental rearing styles is directly related to the student’s personalityand behavior development, so to do an in-depth research for the relationship betweenphysical violence and parental rearing styles of students in vocational schools is notonly has important significance to how to prevent and respond to campus violence, butalso is a complementarity for the theories of adolescent mental and behavioraldevelopment.Based on the summary of literatures, a confirmatory factor analysis was conductedfor the School Violence Questionnaire(SVQ) and the Egma Minnen avBardndosnauppforstran (EMBU) first of all, which followed conducting a survey of342students from a vocational school, we learn the current situation of physical violenceand parental rearing styles; and second explored the relationship between vocationalschool student’s physical violence and parental rearing styles; at last verified it byscenario simulation study. The main findings of the research are summarized below:1)The physical violence of vocational school students at a medium level. Theviolence emerged more mainly in the form of suicide, bullying and physical violence.2)The boys are more likely to have suicide, tools attack and sexual assault thangirls, but the violence of girls are increasing; The scores of only child is higher thannon-only child in suicide, tools attack and sexual assault.3)There were significant differences on different gender. Compare to girls, thefathers give the boys more severe punishment and recognition, and give morepreference to the girls; And the mothers give the boy’s more emotional warmth, but girlsmore intervention and protection.4)Only-child parents give the children more emotional warmth, protection, andmore preference than non-one-child parents who give children the punishment andrefused more; The divorced parents give children more punishment, over-protection andpreference, but less emotional warmth and understanding and support.5)The different physical violence highly correlated with parents’ rearing styles,so we can predict the children’s some violence through parental rearing styles.6)The parents refused, denied, and his father’s severe punishment may result in their children’s suicide; Excessive interference and over-protection from the mother maycause children to be more physical against; The fathers’ severe punishment and themothers’ overprotection are likely to lead to sexual assault of their children.The study using a variety of methods to deeply discuss the relationship betweenphysical violence and parental rearing styles of students in vocational schools, andverified the research conclusion by scenario simulation experiment, and some strategiesand recommendations to prevent and respond to students’ physical violence were putforward, which has theoretical significance, and also providing a certain practicalreference about how to prevent and intervene school violence. |
