Expansion And Application: Research On Durkheim’s Suicide Sociology

Since the publication of Durkheim’s "suicide " in1897, it has become the maintheories of sociology to explain the problem of suicide. It’s not only the mostimportant theory of suicide in sociology, but also made unparalleled contribution tosociology uniqueness. The abstract, vague concept, application difficulties and otherissues left over, causing scholars to their questioning and criticism, correction anddevelopment of various types of point of view. After a century of trials and hardships,the foundation of the "suicide" is still solid, it’s still an important source ofsociological wisdom, and its legacy can solve.The core concepts of "social integration and social norms "are the main line ofthis article. The article wants to explain the phenomenon of the suicide in China, byusing the expansion of the concepts. First of all, combined with China’s actualsituation on the operation of this concept, the ecology model for the Bronfenbrennerfrom the micro, meso, exo and macro four levels to establish the index system, inorder to achieve the expansion of the concept; Secondly, collected on the basis ofliterature research of the typical suicide cases, four level indicator system to explainthe phenomenon of the suicide, and achieve the application of the index system;Thirdly, through the study of questioned and criticized Durkheim’s suicide theory ofChinese scholars, the theme wants to investigate the explanatory power on suicidesociology of Durkheim; Finally, because the social phenomenon of the decline ofChina’s suicide rate, the theme wants to explain it. The article analyzes and explainsthe phenomenon on the basis of field studies on the decline of suicide rate of ruralwomen in China’s Hubei Province, Ma city inn town, in order to achieve the theory ofDurkheim’s suicide sociology in our local suicide research.
