With the in-depth development of China’s reform and opening up and modernization, China is now in the economic and social transition period. The ideological and political education is facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges with a variety ofsocial thoughts agitated world-wide, a variety of values colliding with each other, various concepts intertwined, and struggles in the ideological and cultural fields extremely complex. The Western capitalist values continue to penetrate and have already produced a profound influence on China’s ideology and politics. A higher demand on theideological and political education work in the new period of China’s economic and social transformation is required, because the traditional ideological and political education methods have been far short of the development and changes. The reform and innovation of college students’ ideological and political education is imperative.The Communist Party of China and our nation have always attached great importance to the ideological and political education especially since the reform and openingup of the ideological and political education has achieved remarkable success. However, the education still lags far behind the requirements of the Party and the nation.Based on this situation, I have chosen the reform and innovation of the ideological and political education of college students during economic restructuring to study and explore. First of all, the study is based on the domestic and abroad researches, and also combined with practical conditions. Here I re-analyze the connotation and characteristics of economic transition and ideological and political education. The theoretical basis of ideological and political education innovation in economic transformation is pointed out. The opportunities and challenges for reform and innovation of ideological and political education in the economic restructuring are indicated. Secondly, in this article the surveys and statistical analysis for the school status, student status, family status, and social status are done in the form of questionnaire. The problems of ideological and political education in the economic restructuring come out. Influential matters for ideological and political education are also analyzed from three factors whichare family education, school education and social education. Finally, the main measures for reform and innovation of ideological and political education in economic restructuring are expounded.Adhering to the principle of ideological and political education reform and innovation, comments and suggestions are made here from four aspects which are the concept innovation, content innovation, environmental innovation, mechanism innovation inorder to realize the reform and innovation of the ideological and political education in economic restructuring, and to create a new situation in the ideological and politicaleducation.
