The new curriculum reform emphasized the need to guide students to create newways of learning, and stressed the need to cultivate the students’innovative spirit andpractical ability to focus on trying to establish curriculum standards, set the course of thecomprehensive practical activities, and strengthen the IT education reform, reform theteaching materials, evaluation examination system and other measures, guiding andpromoting students to establish new ways of learning.American scholar Newman (Newman, PM) of the definition of learning:“learningstyle is the students’ participation in teaching activities, both the behavior of studentsinvolved in emotional engagement, including cognitive participation.”Can be seen, thelearning style of the students is a combination concept, it is participation, emotional andcognitive participation and participate in social participation in the organic integration.To change the learning style means not only to change the students’the bad behavior andcognitive orientation in learning, but also to change the students’ poor learning attitude,awareness and quality of study habits.This paper advocates various learning styles --accepting study, mechanical learning,he main learning and independent study, autonomous learning, cooperative learning,explore (found) study, dialogue and personal learning, learning meaningful learning,experiential learning, and a positive learning, etc.--common development, namelydiverse learning styles. Because all sorts of learning styles are connected, mutualintegrated with each other. We should use“relational thinking”(integrity thinking) to putany learning style as one of“learning style group”or“learning style system”, notisolated to know them.The article through a comparative study of two sets of textbooks’--America’s“Physics: Principles and Problems”and the current People’s Education Publishing Housepublished high school curriculum standard textbooks (physics)--exercise’schedule. Exercise is classified from a new point of view, so we can guide the use of physicsexercises in the physics teaching, to develop students’diverse learning styles andpromote students’intelligence and skill all-round development.Thus, the study found that the students master the process of physics knowledge,there should be a kind of physics exercise is to reveal the process of establishment of thephysics knowledge, to help students’autonomous learning to understand the context ofthe physics knowledge; A kind of physics exercise sets should be training students’application of physics knowledge and the ability to solve problems; A kind of physicsexercise should play the students’creativity and imagination, training students’creativity.All kinds of physics exercises supplement each other, through the reasonable setting allkinds of physics exercises, the scientific use of physics exercises, give full play to theadvantages of all kinds of physics exercises, to promote students’learning styles ofdiversification, promote the students’ intelligence, skill all-round development.Every kind of physics exercises has the important role in promoting the students’diverse learning styles, In our physics teaching, we should be integrated use ofconceptual physics exercise, problem solving physics exercise and open type physicsexercise, we can’t just value of one kind of physics exercise, ignore the other kind ofphysics exercise. Then it can effectively promote the cultivation of students’diverselearning styles.
