Sociological Analysis On Migrant Workers’ Emotional Expression And Construction

By using qualitative research and discourse analysis methods, this study describes the overall situation of migrant workers’ emotion from living world.From the perspective of sociology of emotions,and on the basis of summary and comb about emotion,migrant workers,migrant workers’ emotion.this study does a sociological analysis about migrant workers’ emotional expression and construction.The study suggests that,first,the emotional status of migrant workers is a mixture of satisfied emotions and dissatisfied emotions.This complex situation is constructed commonly by institutional factors,cultural factors,network factors and individual factors;Second,from the theory of Field Practice of Pierre Bourdieu.this study thinks that as big background fields,institutional factors,cultural factors affect emotional expression and construction from a macro level,and as the practice of small field,network of interactive factors influence from a micro-level.Besides,as key actors, individual factors achieve organic interactions among large fields and small fields, macroscopic fields and microscopic fields, distant fields and close fields.Third,living in the big and small fields,migrant workers will compare their experiences about time and space and reference groups from subjective and objective,economic and social dimensions.In the comparison of space-time experience,individual will get positive emotions easily if realistic conditions and ideal situation occupy dominant position,or it will get negative emotions easily;Referring to reference groups,individual will get positive emotions if it occupies dominant position,or it will get negative emotions.Four,the emotional life of migrant workers’ practice is a overall performance of individual initiative and social forces,in order to alleviate their emotional plight,we need to take some measures from the government,society,community and migrant workers themselves commonly.
