Research On Netizens’ Emotional Expression In Social Hotspot Events

The development of the internet has made more and more people join the ranks of“netizens”,and the decentralization of the right to speak allows netizens to express their views and opinions on events through the Internet.However,due to the “anonymity” characteristic of the internet,the uneven quality of netizens,the social environment and many other factors,netizens’ speeches have become emotional and extreme,and some comments on the internet have become more emphasis on emotional venting rather than an expression of opinion.From the perspective of netizens’ emotional expression in social hotspot events,this study takes the truck-pulling incident in 2021 as an example,and uses relevant research methods of computational communication,including word frequency statistics,sentiment analysis and LDA topic modeling in order to conduct an overall analysis of the emotional expression of netizens.Specifically examine the emotional characteristics and text characteristics of netizens’ speeches and analyze the reasons that affect the emotional expression of netizens,so as to propose more practical netizens’ emotional guidance strategies.The study found that in the early days of the incident,the positive emotions in the comments of netizens were greater than the negative emotions,but as the event developed,the negative emotions would increase.At the same time,the arousal degree of positive emotions in netizens’ comments is low,while the degree of arousal of negative emotions is high.In the textual analysis of netizen comments,it can be found that the comments mainly focus on the parties involved in the incident,but also mixed with attention to corner information;at the same time,the comment discourse also shows a very obvious group opposition,especially the gender opposition is the most prominent.Based on the analysis results of the crawled comment data,this paper proposes corresponding netizen emotion guidance strategies from two aspects: normalized management and when social hot events are triggered.In daily life,the government should study and judge the concerns of netizens’ public opinion in real time,and establish a joint prevention and control system for harm;the media should actively undertake social responsibilities and rebuild the credibility of the media,netizens should consciously improve their media literacy and cultivate an open and inclusive mentality.When social hotspot events trigger the emotions of netizens,the government should effectively reveal the truth and establish the concept of “citizen-based”;relevant media reports should focus on the event itself and handle the key points;netizens themselves should maintain a positive attitude and speak rationally,and jointly maintain the healthy ecology of the network.
