This significant move could be seen both as a call to reconsider and restore the very core value of the traditional education and teaching, and as a positive recognition to its indispensable functions to today’s social development. This thesis aims to explore the impact of classics-reciting on children’s English learning through an empirical research including comparative study, classroom observation, interview and questionnaire for the purpose of looking for more appropriate ways for children to study English. The results of the study show that classics-reciting teaching approach help significantly in terms of motivating children’ interest in English learning, developing their potentials and competence in attention-focusing, memorizing, understanding, language awareness and learning efficiency.
