The tang dynasty’s politics, economies, culture and foreign exchanges shows that the feudal society of that time were quite prosperous,which provided superior material conditions for the developments of women in Tang Dynasty and made them take on a new spiritual look. But, in the Chinese ancient history, the rate of women were written into the history book were very small, even into the book, the proportion of it was small, too. Therefore, the relevant records of women in history biographies were valuable."Female Biography" written by LiuXiang was the first special history of Women in ancient China. Fanye’s "History of the Later Han Dynasty· Female Biography" opened the precedent of women into the official history. Following Fanye, every dynasty most will set up "Female Biography" alone. Every "Female Biography" became important history materials that studied the women at that time. The topic of this paper is "New History of the Tang Dynasty· Female Biography", through the analysis and research of the women in official historical records to understand the characteristics of the female image and the influence of the Tang Dynasty’s views to women to the female image in Tang Dynasty.This paper is mainly divided into four parts. The first chapter introduced the compiling reason, process, main contents and characteristics of "New History of the Tang Dynasty". The second chapter introduced the compiling reason and purpose of "New History of the Tang Dynasty· Female Biography", and then classify the women in the book to analyze and understand the types and features of female image in Tang dynasty. In the third chapter, by comparing "New History of the Tang Dynasty· Female Biography" and former generation of "Female Biography", we could know the valued female image in Tang Dynasty. The forth chapter analyzed the main factors that affected female images to research the Tang Dynasty’s views to women how to influence the female image in Tang Dynasty.
