With the continuous deepening of the new high school geography curriculum reform, geography teaching of high school in China has entered a new period of development, geography education is becoming necessary to cultivate an active and responsible citizens for today and the future world". However, when classroom go into the normalization we will find: classroom teaching skills of teachers is also far from being able to meet the requirement of the new curriculum reform and development. The efforts to improve the geography teacher’s classroom teaching skills, both now and for quite along time, is the needs of teaching and the basic demands of the new curriculum reform deepening. This topic is based on the geography curriculum reform deepening as the background, serving high school geography teachers. Mainly through the literature, questionnaire surveys, interviews, classroom observation and other methods to improve the geography teacher’s classroom teaching skills.This article consists of six parts. The first part introduces the research background, research status at home and abroad, and research methods. The second part is the theoretical basis of this subject, in this part the behaviorist learning theory, constructivist learning theory, humanistic learning theory, as well as the new foundation for educational theory are discussed. The third part illustrates and defines the skills, including teaching skills and geography classroom teaching skills and concepts, and points out the requirements of the new curriculum for geography teachers’ classroom teaching skills. The fourth part mainly through questionnaires, interviews, classroom observations and other methods to understand the problems of geography teacher in the classroom skill. The fifth part refines the classroom teaching skills and knows how to use these classroom teaching skills. The sixth part is from macro perspective such as system security, education and training for teachers to analyze how to improve the geography teacher’s classroom teaching skills. In order to fundamentally improve the teachers’ classroom teaching skills, they can quickly become an excellent geography Teachers.
