Modern education has unprecedentedly been achieving the goals of developing science and technology and bringing up talents since the 21 century. Those people with high accomplishment in science, culture and humanities play an increasingly critical significance than before. Therefore, China has promoted the status of geography in basic education and improvement of its courses with grand scale. The present heart of content, forming new course and teaching system, is to give students a high standard of geography teaching.The thesis based on new curriculum standard discusses the questions in classroom instruction, such as teacher-student relations and role, classroom atmosphere, students'thought and principle analysis. teachers'essential ability, philosophy of evaluating students, especially teaching method and result are also referred to in this thesis to form a high quality classroom instruction.Teachers are the key point in the success of new curriculum amendment. Although the students are the core factor and main body of teaching activity, they, the educated, can not fulfill teaching aim and task by themselves. Therefore, the leading role of teachers is very important and so are the geography teachers who can not be replaced in teaching activity. In the new curriculum amendment, teachers are required to removed the outmoded and backward notion and establish new philosophy which is in keeping with new standard for senior high courses. Teachers should change their accustomed teaching method and behavior, learn to develop course resources, rebuild teaching style and optimize the combination of teaching contents. All these measures are used to diversify teaching method and evaluation as well as reconstruct teacher-student relations.
