In September2007, the new history curriculum came into force in high school in Hunan Province Hengyang City. To find out the current situation of the new history curriculum in Hengyang City, the research drew on the experience by triangulation (interviewing, questionnaire as well as investigating) in scene with some high school history teachers, who come from Hengyang City. Four aspects were taken into consideration which include the new concepts of the curriculum reform, the curriculum content, class teaching and evaluation as the point of view. The result of investigation show that some of the problems are still exist during the process of New Curriculum Standard implementation. The survey found:1. Most teachers value more on the knowledge and skill goals than the other goals, specifically, process and method, emotional attitude and view of value2. Teachers held the opinion that how to present the teaching content and orgnize the structure of the new teaching materials efficiently is still a problem waited to be solved.3. The comprehensive ability of teachers and students limits the inquiry to carry out the teaching of history.4. The lack of resources hinders the progress of history curriculum.5. The utilitarian of evaluation methods hinders the progress of history curriculum.At last, some constructive suggestions and recommendations are offered to solve the remaining problems:1. Teachers need to transform the concept of inherent and the role.2. Teachers should strive to improve their own quality;3. Teachers can cooperate to strengthen the research of the new history curriculum.4.Teachers should strengthen the research into the history teaching material.5.Pay more attention to the students needs and achieve the diversification of evaluation methods of history teaching.
