With the development of educational information technology, the in-depth development ofmultimedia and network technology, the educational virtual community had improved,developed and moved toward universal since it was born. Correspondingly, many domestic andforeign scholars, experts on the educational virtual community related studies are graduallyunfolded: such as detailed discussion of the influencing factors on the interaction of theeducational virtual community, discussed its internal knowledge sharing strategy in detail,discoursed the sense of educational virtual community’s belonging, collective efficacy, andmotivation to learn. We must also pay attention that everything is bound to face a natural law,that all things must follow from creation to development, prosperity, eventually the gradualdemise. As an educational virtual community construction and researcher, we should considerwhat respect we can proceed with and what kind of measures to extend the educational virtualcommunity development period, prosperous period, and even how to attract the members to theeducational virtual community in order to keep the community persistence. Ultimately, itrespects to the problem of the educational virtual community cohesion. Therefore, this papercarried out studies on the educational virtual community cohesion, with a view to contribute theeducational virtual community’s development and prosperity.Firstly, this paper points out the problems existing in the current research and the key inthis study, on the basis of summarized the related research status by literature research method.Secondly, according to the cohesion theory, this paper analyzed and discussed the educationalvirtual community’s content and functions after analyzing the content of community, virtualcommunity and educational virtual community. Thirdly, according to conducted a questionnairesurvey on the students who participated in the community learning and made survey data forempirical analysis, this paper obtained some factors which had influence to the educationalvirtual community cohesion. Fourthly, this paper put forward some strategies to enhance theeducational virtual community cohesion combined with its related influencing factors as well asthe educational virtual community’s own characteristics. Finally, this paper summarized theresearch results and innovations, and prospected this study.Through the study, the community individual members’ cohesion, the community team’scohesion and the community organization’s cohesion constitute the educational virtualcommunity cohesion. The educational virtual community cohesion factors mainly includeexternal factors, students and teacher factors, community factors, cultural factors. From these five factors, this paper put forward some strategies to enhance the educational virtualcommunity cohesion, such as improving community teacher role, improving the communityplatform, perfecting the construction of community culture.
