As a consequence of the financial crisis in2008, Chinese undergraduates are now facinga severe problem with their employment. Government and universities, even undergraduatesthemselves are taking measures to deal with this problem. Encouraging and supportingstudents initiating their own enterprise is welcomed and effective. Student entrepreneurshipcan not only handle this employment problem, but also, to some extent, it can create jobs bymultiplying job opportunity. Entrepreneurship is a tremendous and complicated system.According to the resource based theory (RBT), resource is the main line of the wholeentrepreneurial process. Resource development is always the core problem of this process.Resource acquisition is a top priority of resource development. Because of the studententrepreneurs’ characters, they will meet some problems when acquiring resources.Combining the student entrepreneurs’ characters, this research will analyze the influencefactors of their resource acquisition. The main content is as follows:First, literature review. This research is mainly based on the resource based theory andresource management theory. First, we elaborate the two theories in detail. Then, based onthe elaboration, we systematically combed the relevant literatures on university studententrepreneurship and resource acquisition. This provides a theoretical support for theframework and assumptions.Second, framework and assumptions. First, according to the literature review of resourceacquisition, we know the influence factors of resource acquisition. Meanwhile, combinedwith the entrepreneurial characteristics of university students, we identified three mainfactors of this study, entrepreneurial network, student entrepreneurs’ traits and initialresources. Then, we describe the relationship between the various influencing factors andresource acquisition and put forward the corresponding assumptions. The hypothesis are asfollows: The scale of the entrepreneurial network of university student entrepreneurship hasa positive effect on resource acquisition. The strength of the entrepreneurial network ofuniversity student entrepreneurship has a positive effect on resource acquisition. Therisk-taking of the student entrepreneur has a positive effect on the resource acquisition. The need for achievement of the student entrepreneur has a positive effect on the resourceacquisition. The locus of control of the student entrepreneur has a positive effect on theresource acquisition. The education of the student entrepreneur has a positive effect on theresource acquisition. The experience of the student entrepreneur has a positive effect on theresource acquisition.Third, empirical study. In this study, we conduct a survey on200student ventures inChangchun City, the ultimate recovery of191questionnaires were valid questionnaires for atotal of184. Recovery of data validation, including reliability test, the test of the validity andhomology bias test, and then for the variable correlation analysis, the final research modelwas tested by regression analysis, the results support all the assumptions of this article.Fourth, conclusion and recommendations. This study concluded that university studentsentrepreneurial network has a positive effect on their resource acquisition; the universitystudent entrepreneurs’ traits have a positive effect on their resource acquisition; theuniversity students entrepreneurs’ initial resources have a positive effect on their resourceacquisition. Based on the conclusions of this paper, we propose the appropriate policyrecommendations. This result of this paper provides basis and reference for government and universitiesencouraging university students’ entrepreneurship. It has great theoretical and practicalsignificance on not only encouraging university students’ entrepreneurship, but alsopromoting the graduate employment.
