Gansu and Guangxi are multi-ethnic areas which are locate in northwest China and the Lingnan region respectively since ancient times. They have their own characteristics that are derived from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds of ethnic relations. This paper is a comparative study based on the variables that affect ethnic relations in Gengsa village,Gannan and Nonglan village,Guangxi and sums up the difference and similarity characteristics of ethnic relations in the two villages, and do a more in-depth discussion of its reasons. The article concludes that the communication of various nations in the history is starting from never to exist, from less to more. From long-term historical process, the illegibility of national consciousness in people’s minds is also experiencing a "No-Yes-No" dialectical process. The economic, cultural, political, and personnel exchanges increased between countries and regions with the globalization of economic, technological and market. These on one hand cause inevitable increase and reinforcement of differences between nations, and on the other hand step up national fusion as a necessity.
