In recent years, China has been under the rapid economic and social development, andpeople began to need more and more education. As a starting point for the lifetime education,pre-school education has also gained more and more attention. However, due to the limitedinvestment in various aspects of China’s education, the number of public kindergartens cannotmeet the demands of society development. In this case, the private kindergarten has been undera rapid development.Due to the fact that the regulation in the legislation and supervision of pre-schooleducation is not fully developed, and the management of private kindergarten is now under adisordered state, the development of the kindergarten become polarized: the high-endkindergarten fees are far beyond what the average family could afford, while the low-endkindergarten’s quality is quite worrying. As the number of kindergarten increases year afteryear, the competition is also become more and more intensified. How to stand out in this fiercecompetition and maintain a sustainable development? This is an urgent question that needs toexplore. This paper attempts to view from reality, makes suggestions to enhance the corecompetitiveness of private kindergarten, to promote the development of China’s privatepre-school education.This paper firstly gives a detailed analysis of the core competence theory, trying to findsome inspiration to private kindergarten from the core competitiveness of enterprises theory,and then explains the particularity of the private kindergarten. By connecting the company’score competitiveness theory with the nature of the private kindergarten and its practicaldevelopment, we can find the elements of the core competitiveness of private kindergarten, anddevelop a workable evaluation system. Based on these theories and indicators, the authormakes practical investigation to two representative private kindergartens in Zhengzhou, tryingto make analysis on the results. Based on the survey data, the author analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the core competitiveness of private kindergarten, and then raisessuggestions for increasing the core competitiveness of the private kindergarten from theaspects of market positioning, improving school conditions, specification of fees, strengtheningthe teaching staff, achieving the distinguished schooling, and upholding the integrity.
