Sichuan private universities in China have quickly risen,developed,and become a vital force in the field of the higher education in Sichuan province under the dual function of market economy and the reform of Sichuan higher education system,since they restored to develop in the 1980 s last century,especially the promulgation of "Private Education Promotion Law".However,private higher institutions in our country face fierce market competition since their birth.To seek survival and development in the competition must have its own competitive advantage.The competitive advantage of universities may come from excellent teaching level,outstanding scientific research ability,high quality graduates exported to society,serving local economic and social development and other aspects.The Mechanism of running a private university is the comparative advantage of its competition with the public college.The unique advantages of private universities are that they have greater autonomy in running a school,a flexible mechanism for running a school,a stronger initiative and driving force for development,and better efficiency for running a school.Sichuan private universities should adapt themselves to the changing market situation and social transformation,constantly reflect on and adjust their own system and mechanism,constantly absorb and integrate high quality educational resources,and form their own competitive advantages.The goal of modernization of national governance system and governance capacity proposed in the third Plenary Session of the 18 th CPC Central Committee is not only the national will,but also the goal of comprehensive reform of all kinds of organizations.The establishment of a modern university system with the characteristics of private universities is the goal of the reform of higher education.Under the background of ruling the country according to law in an all-round way,private colleges and universities in Sichuan should focus on formulating university regulations and perfecting the governance structure of legal persons,so as to continuously promote the rule of law in internal governance.It is necessary to construct a new pattern of administration by the competent education department,independent running of private universities,and participation of social forces according to law,to form a scientific management operating mechanism and to promote the core competitiveness of private universities in Sichuan Province.
