With the advancement of science and technology, the society is increasingly raising a higher andhigher requirement on talented persons’ ability, although what the current society needs is compoundtalents’ with varied capacities,especially creative talents. Traditional education is focused on the teaching ofknowledge regardless of the cultivation of capacities. In order to conform to the developmental need oftimes and society, the course reform is continually deepened. Under the guidance of the new course idea,high school chemistry curriculum has built a new course system. In order to adapt to the development ofthe new course system, varieties of teaching modes has sprouted,such as experimental research mode, caseteaching mode and so on.According to the new curriculum standard, Ordinary High School Chemistry CurriculumStandard suggests that the high school chemistry curriculum,with the purpose of further improvingstudents’ scientific literacy, will arouse students’ interest in learning chemistry, respect and promote thedevelopment of the students’ character; help students acquire the necessary for the development of chemicalknowledge, skills and methods, Improve students’ scientific research innovation capability, and cultivatestudents’ capacities of discovering and putting forward valuable studies, challenging existingideas,diligently seeking the truth and forming independent thinking ability to be good at working withpeople and students’ cooperation sense and innovative potential and improve their practicingability.Therefore, we must break the cramming method of teaching, changing from how to teach to how tolearn to adapt to the requirements of the new course reform. We must construct a new teachingmode---question inquiry teaching mode, which is adapted to the times and the school condition as well asconsidering the characteristics of chemistry subject to further improve students’ innovative ability andpromote the school’s rapid development.Based on studies of the current situation and development of domestic and foreign inquiryteaching methods,home and abroad to queation discussion, the paper explores the teaching theory, teachingtheories of information processing, humanism teaching theory and Bruner’s constructive learningtheory.Combining the characteristics of chemistry discipline and the new teaching mode of schools in the province, the paper elaborates the inquiry points from the explanations to queries of variousdictionaries:first, begin from students’ cognitive conflict; second, begin from the failed chemicalexperiment;third, begin from the chemical problems in life;fourth,begin from the difficult problems,and aswell puts forward questioning strategies,questioning methods and matter needing attention. According tothe explanation to exploration in the dictionary, it puts forward its own understanding of inquiry. In theprocess of implementation of the inquiry teaching mode,we need to pay attention to its implementationprinciple and strategy. The inquiry teaching mode just digs up the value of "questioning",focusing on thecreation of question scenes the inquiry points and the strategies and methods of questioning. It exploreson the base of questioning to cultivate students’ questioning sense,exploring ability and creative sense.We designed the teaching case---properties of sulphuric acid according to the theory of questioninquiry teaching mode(chemistry teachers of No.3High School as investigated objects).Through designingthe questionnaire of high school chemistry teachers’ understanding of question inquiry teaching mode,wedrew a conclusion that question inquiry teaching mode is a new one,many young teachers lack necessarycomparative analysis in ideology; however, free from the limit of the old teaching materials, their cognitionis close to the theory, which has the corresponding basis for the implementation of this teaching mode.
