Instructors are the major force of college students’ideological and political education, and the relationship between instructors and students is an important factor that affects the ideological and political education. Practice shows that the good relationship between instructors and students could help to improve the effectiveness of ideological and political education; otherwise it may weaken the influence of that. Therefore, it is of great theoretical and practical significance to research into the relationship between instructors and students and the adjustment countermeasures.In addition to the introduction, this paper mainly consists of three parts. In the first part, it analyses the connotation and characteristics of the relationship between instructors and students, and then discusses the significance of the relationship to the development of college students. The author thinks that the better relationship between the two is the basis of the college students’ideological and political education, and also the important way to college students’ideological and political education. In the second part, the current situation of the relationship between instructors and students was examined and analyzed. On the whole, this study indicates a positive relationship between instructors and students:1) Being relatively equal and democractic in general;2) a benign interaction;3) highlighted interaction relationship;4) smooth evaluation and feedback. However, the relationship also has some prominent problems:1) part of the instructors and university students lack mutural recognition therefore the relationship is indifferent;2) a poor communication between part of the instructors and college students;3) some utility factors permeate the relationship between part of the instructors and college students, which results in lack of feelings;4) the relationship between part of the instructors and college students tend to vulgar. The causes of these problems mainly include:1) the integrated quality of some instructors;2) some College students’own self-perception;3)prominent contradiction between the role of part of instructors and students;4) the construction of the team of instructors;5) the negative influences from some social environmental factors. In the end, this article proposes a number of targeted measures to solve these problems and some countermeasures to construct the harmonious relationship between university students and instructors:improving instructors’core professional quality; strengthening the quality-oriented education of students; establishing a sound mechanism for communication between college instructors and students; reinforcing the construction of political instructor team and improving the social environment for creating a good atmosphere for the construction of the harmonious relationship between the instructors and students.
