Since China implemented the reform and opening up of1978, We desire to build aworld-class research universities become more and more urgent, research universities haveimportant and far-reaching implications for improving the research capacity of researchers,create outstanding achievements in scientific research, and establish scientific and technologicalinnovation-oriented country. As the backbone of the research university, the construction ofFull-time research team will play a crucial role for the development the research capability of theresearch university. On one hand, establishing a excellent full-time research team in Researchuniversities is an external demand to establish an innovative country; on the other hand,establishing a excellent full-time research team in Research universities is an internal demand tobuilding a world-class universities.The Full-time research team of three United States research universities (StanfordUniversity, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Michigan) are the main objectstudy in this article. First of all, analyzes the construction of three full-time research team,specifically discussed full-time research team’s size, type, appointment, management andevaluation on the three universities.In the second place, analysis of a special case of the building of United States full-timeresearch team postdoctoral system. Summed up the history and development of thecharacteristics of the post-doctoral system in the United States.Once again pointed out the necessity of our universities in China to establish a Full-timeresearch team, analyzing its current situation. At the same time, analyzed and expounded China’spost-doctoral system, by comparing China and the United States the similarities and differencesof the postdoctoral system, put forward enlightenment for the development of post-doctoralsystem.Last part by comparative and analysis of the differences between China and the UnitedStates research universities in the establishment of a Full-time research team, proposed the fourlessons of research universities in China to building a Full-time research team: build anambitious personnel, to provide human resources guarantee for the construction of Full-timeresearch team; appointment of a scientific system to provide quality guarantee for theconstruction of Full-time research team; to establish a flexible management system, to providedevelopment guarantee for the construction of Full-time research team; build a enough paymentsystem, to provide found guarantee for the construction of Full-time research team.
