The expansion of higher education brought university graduates’employment difficult and the implementation of western development strategy, which are the foundation for Go West University Student Volunteer Service Plan. The western plan has been nine years. In the nine years, hundreds of thousands of college students go to the west in poor areas to engage in volunteer service has contributed to the development and progress in the western region. The employment of volunteer service expires is the main steps of western plan. Service expiration of volunteers’employment indeed there is a considerable problem. But from the point of view of social capital, voluntary service experience in the volunteer service after the expiry of the employment has a certain role. Based on the perspective of social capital, Survey through the field interviews, to find Students participate in the western region is the dual role of rational choice that the preferential policies upon completion of service with the current employment situation is grim. Voluntary service to the expiration of the stock of social capital more than just graduated. Mainly in the effective regulation, social networks, mutual trust. Then the author analyzes the volunteers’employment status of the expiration of the term of service and the satisfaction they now work. Found that the volunteers upon completion of service had a variety of channels of employment, effectively regulate under enter the system, immersed in the network after take root the grassroots level, the independent choosing profession after information transmission and so on. Through voluntary service, volunteers of various aspects have been tempered, ability also rises somewhat, basically can find a satisfying job.The author analyzes the three aspects of social capital perspective of volunteer experience on volunteer employment promotion. Within the organization and social network to expand to improve the employability of volunteers, Informal network expanding reinforced volunteer social adaptation, formal network expanded to improve volunteer skill level; credit guarantee, financial support, the transmission of information for effective operation of widening employment channels of the volunteers; mutual trust capital increment enhanced volunteer employment confidence, improve job success rate.
