The Research Of Social Support System Among Single-mother Families

Along with the social change and transformation of our country, the traditional family pattern and marriage began to change, and then trigger the divorce rate rise make single parent families on the trend of increased year by year. As a special form of single parent families, single mother families’numbers have increased year after year, accounting for a significant share in all single parent families. Social sectors have paid wide attention to all kinds of social problems caused by single mother families.In this paper, the author take empty nesters in wuzhong area of suzhou as the research objects. Through the literature search method, questionnaire and interview methods to collect information. the author understand the practical difficulties of current single parent family in wuzhong area, including basic life dilemma, self development dilemma, the children’s family education dilemma, children of the family education dilemma. Through the analysis of the practical difficulties, we understand formal and informal social support of the single mother. The support is from the government, community, school, non-profit organizations, relatives, friends, neighborhood and former spouse and family support. There are many problems in the existing social support, imbalance of social support, instability of informal social support. Finally through putting forward Suggestions to solve these problems, the single mother families get out of trouble.
