Presently, the development of China’s sports and fitness activities has been to a newhistorical period. In the rapid development of modern society, with people’s busy life,the pace of life is getting faster and faster. People are facing increasing pressure of work,increasingly complex interpersonal relationships and increasingly heavy mental burden.It is easy for people in a negative and depressed mood for a long time, which is bound toaffect the physical health and to lay hidden dangers for the generation of many diseases.With the development of modern society, in the face of pressure from work and life,people have to maintain a good body and a good state of mind. So, while people iscontinuing to pursue and improve better quality of life, modern people is paying more andmore attention to "Regimen". However, with the means of a variety of health, modernwestern sports fitness methods and Chinese traditional sports regimen are the twomainstreams. How to choose their own regimen means becomes a major problem. Inthis paper, by means of literature and logical analysis, with the comparative studiesbetween Chinese traditional sports regimen and modern sports fitness, the followingimportant insights are reached:Firstly, Chinese traditional sports regimen is a treasure of traditional Chinese culture.Its unique theory and operating system is suitable to recommend and promote a scientificregimen method for modern people. It’s a precious cultural wealth which will increasinglyshow great value to the healthy life of humanity with the improvement in the level of socialmodernization. Secondly, modern sports is formed on the basis of Western sports, withthe color of the Western cultur. So, modern fitness theory has a different theory andoperating system from Chinese traditional sports regimen. Thirdly, Western and Chineseregimen fitness theory can complement and blend each other. With the development andprogress of modern technology, under the accelerated pace of life of people, it is “practiceboth physical health and mental health” of Chinese traditional regimen which make the modern sports fitness focus on people’s mental health from enhancing people’s physicaldevelopment. Fourthly, in modern society, with the economic development and people’sliving standards improve, leisure time increased. There will be more and more people toparticipate in fitness. Some ethical, philosophical, and fitness ideas and viewpoints of thecontent of the traditional sports regimen fit with this demand of modern people for scienceregimen. We can learn from the essence to enrich thinking, to enhance personality and toguide behavior.
