Competition results of throwing athletes is a comprehensive reflection of multiplefactors, and body shape and physical quality are two mainly factors for competitionresults. Therefore, by using the methods of measurement, literature, mathematicalstatistic and logical analysis, this dissertation has made a measure and test on the bodyshape and physical quality of108throwing athletes who participate in the2011trackand field junior championships in Heilongjiang province, and the characteristics ofbody shape and physical quality have been revealed by variance analysis, chi-squaretest and comparative analysis. Based on different special, different age and differentsex of young throwing athletes, the characteristics of body shape and physical qualityon young throwing athletes in Heilongjiang province have been investigated, and therelationship between body shape, physical quality and competition results has beendemonstrated. It provides the theoretical basis for each stage of scientific training ofyoung throwing athletes in Heilongjiang province, moreover, it also has a certainpractical significance for selection of young throwing athletes at this stage.The result shows that:1. The six body shape indexes of height, weight, che··st, pelviswidth, lower limb length, arm span of young man shot, discus and javelin athletesbetween12and17years old in Heilongjiang province have significant difference.Sitting height, shoulder width, pelvis width/shoulder width×100and Quetelet index ofthem have very significant differences. The mean values of every group of Queteletindex and Pelvis width/shoulder width×100all exceed the national selection criteria, itindicates that body shape of man athletes is sturdy and tall.2.The body shape indexesof height, arm span, weight, chest, shoulder width, pelvis width, pelvis width/shoulderwidth×100and Quetelet index of young woman shot, discus and javelin athletesbetween12and17years old in Heilongjiang province have significant difference. Themean values of every group of Quetelet index and Pelvis width/shoulder width×100are in the context of the national selection criteria, it indicates that body shape ofwoman athletes are relative standard.3. All age groups’ athletes of different gendersand different special are different in characteristics of body shape. The mean values ofhand length index of shot and discus athletes reach the maximum value of the nationalselection criteria. The mean values of height, weight, pelvis width, lower limb length, Quetelet index, chest index of shot and discus athletes are higher than javelin athletes,but sitting height index of shot and discus athletes are lower than javelin athletes.4.Physical quality results of all age groups athletes are obtained by chi-square test. Itshows that: competition results of men and women30meter dash show uneven form,the gap between them is larger, median value is lower than mean value, it hassignificant difference in the group, the mean values all do not reach the nationalselection criteria. Competition results of all age groups’ athletes of triple jump are notsignificant difference. Competition results of all age groups’ athletes of back put shotare not significant difference, and the mean values reach the national selection criteria.5. The triple jump average results of all age discus and javelin athletes are higher thanshot athletes, they are significant difference. Then, results of the back put shot arehigher than discus and javelin athletes, and they are very significant difference.6.Thecorrelation analysis of special sport results and body shape and physical qualityindicates that special sport results of shot athletes are most relative to body shape andphysical quality, secondly speed quality, span and Quetlet index. Special sport resultsof discus athletes are most relative to span and speed quality, secondly height, strengthquality and Quetlet index. Special sport results of javelin athletes are most relative tospeed and strength quality, secondly height, upper arm girth elasticity difference andjumping quality.
