Research On College Students’ Patriotism About The Diaoyu Islands Issue

Studying on the issue of the Diaoyu Islands and patriotism education for contemporary college students, the thesis first reviews and combs its origin and causes, then analyzes the patriotic action taken by college students for protection of the Diaoyu Islands, looks into the profound epoch connotation of the patriotism at the background of patriotism education, and finally discusses how colleges and universities give their full play to guide students to build up correct patriotic ideas and develop patriotism. The introduction mainly covers the significance and ideas of the subject. Chapter One:A Political View on the Issue of Diaoyu Island. It mainly traces back to the history and status quo of the issue in terms of China’s stand-off with Japan, and China’s relations with the United States and Northeast Asia regarding the Diaoyu Islands. Chapter2:Contemporary and the Diaoyu Islands. It reviews Chinese mania for protection of the Diaoyu Islands, and analyzes college students’reaction to the issue. Chapter Three:Analysis of College Students’Patriotism. In the first part, the author analyzes the scientific connotation of patriotism education in the new era, probes into the erroneous tendency and drawbacks of patriotism among the college students, and discusses the significance of patriotism by introducing international hot issues. Chapter Four: Strengthening Analysis of Patriotism Education by Introduction of International Hot Issues. It mainly proposes strategies for implementation of patriotism education by utilizing international hot issues which are involved in associations, school net of colleges.
