A Research On The Floating Women In Hunan

The report of the Seventeenth National Party Congress pointed out that "enhancing the services and management of floating population", and proposed that it is an important task of building a harmonious socialist society which we should "accelerate the social construction focused on improving people’s livelihood. Thus, the floating population has caused the party and government attention. According to the National Population and Family Planning Committee data, the floating population in China in2010reached211million, of which about105million were women. This fully shows that the floating population has developed into social groups related to the social and economic development, related to social stability and building a harmonious society. However, due to the household registration system, and urban-rural differences factors, the life and work of the floating population in urban has been in a relatively weak position, in which discrimination against female migrants are more than men,and women took more pressure than men did.Based on the above problems, this research list systematically the literature on the floating women’s issues, based on the social exclusion and the gender theory, the use of sociological empirical research methods, objectively and comprehensively analysed the female floating workers’ marital and fertility, family relationships, employment status in Hunan, found the factors which affect them from the personal characteristics, the mobile experience and social factors and so on, in order to sum up the overall features of the floating women, find out their difficulties encountered in working life, look for the reason why it is difficult to integrate into the city, and put forward some practical political recommendations. Therefore, regardless of the development period or location, select representative regions or provinces for further analysis and to investigate the floating; women’s life and the factors which influence their life has important theoretical significance and practical value.Results of this study show that:personal characteristics, floating experience, social factors significantly affect the floating women’s marital and fertility status; personal characteristics, floating experience, social factors significantly affect the flow of women of the family relationship status; personal characteristics, flowexperience, social factors have a significant effect on the floating women’s labor and employment situation.Can be seen through the conclusion of the above study, the factors of affecting the floating women working and living conditions is very complicated, for the difficulties they met, this study proposes the following measures:first, promote to change the concept of the floating women; second, expand the floating womens’ employment opportunities;third, improve the social security to protect the floating womens’legitimate rights and interests;fourth, innovate the public administration to improve the flow of women living environment.
