It is a good tradition of our colleges and universities since the foundingof New China to gradually establish and improve college students’ ownoutlook on life and values by teaching them ideological and political theoryand of Marxism. Since the founding of China, it has been60years forideological and political theory course to play an important role in improvingcollege students’ ideological and political theoretical level and helping themestablish the Marxist world outlook and methodology. But after entering the21th Century, the new situation and new tasks make ideological and politicaltheory course face various opportunities and challenges. Ideological andpolitical theory course should keep up with the development of times andmeet the student spiritual and cultural needs and constantly deepen theteaching contents and form. Ideological and political theory examinationreforms, are not only parts of the ideological and political theory teachingreform, but also are necessary measures for ideological and political theory toconstantly improve their own scientific system, promote the teaching contentand form of reform to ensure that the real efficacy of the ideological andpolitical theory education.After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the reform of finalexam of China’s ideological and political theory course had never beenstopped. The examination form has developed from the early days of the oralrecitation of the original to the theory of the socialist period of class andpractice are fully integrated,and then, during the Cultural Revolution to re-practice,neglect of the theory test exam. Until the reform and opening up,China’s ideological and political theory course exam has gradually formed thescientific system,along a theoretical written test,practice evaluation ofcombination of the main line to supplement and improve constantly. Theprogressive make the examination methods of ideological and political theory standardization, scientific and institution.However,the current of Ideological and political theory written examstill has a lot of theoretical problems. The courses of Ideological and politicaltheory should guide and encourage students. But under the influence of thetraditional test methods and concepts,we can not accurate enough to grasp theteaching rule of the ideological and political theory. Assessment of theideological and political theory targeting is not accurate. The teaching focuson the examination results as a single evaluation, ignoring the learningprocess and the comprehensive evaluation. So a series of serious quality ofteaching have arisen, the classes will not be able to play their roles both inGuiding and encouraging college students.At present, we must further promote China’s ideological and politicaltheory examination reform. The first step is to re-examine or combine ourtheory and ideas of existing ideological and political theory exam, includingthe necessity of ideological and political exam reform, the function and effectof ideological and political exam and the examination reform of ideologicaland political theory guiding ideology and so on. The author believes that thegoal of the reform is to restore the exam-oriented features,in order to achievethe goals of the ideological and political theory courses and adapt to meet thedevelopment needs of contemporary college students, and placed thecomplete implementation of the educational needs of innovation. The premiseof the reform is to change the traditional examination methods and ideas. Inthe guiding ideology of the people-oriented,the reform is to establishreasonable performance goals to meet the requirements of the quality ofeducation, innovation education, in line with the basic features andcharacteristics of the times and the ideological and political theory. Themethods of reform,not only to adhere to the “three combinations”,but alsoinnovative exploration and reform the existing education system,put forwardhigher demands for the ideological and political theory teachers’ humanistic qualities and Professional level. The examination forms of ideological andpolitical theory should be integrated,complex and comprehensive. Ultimatelywe should provide the necessary theoretical premise for the examinationreforms of China’s ideological and political theory course for success.
